First, I realised that I needed to get my contacts into an environment other then Microsoft in order to protect them for the future.

Also, I could not do this from win 10, because my contacts list was corrupted. So, this is what I did.. Step 2. Now, because I do not like google much, I also wanted another provider independent of the two majors. So, I also set up firefox thunderbird and imported my contacts to that application. Note that in order to import to firefox you have to export your contacts to a "csv" format file.

And I do like 10 as a platform. Very Smooth. I suspect that if I had only set up the outlook account, then this would have been "the" fix.

But I have no regrets with having firefox as an email provider, because I suspect that Microsoft will discontinue live mail in the future. I do not like "mail" or "gmail" because neither application has the multiple choice menu bars of "live mail" and "firefox thunderbird". I also hope that this is not sensored by Microsoft because of my mentioning their competitors.

If someone from Microsoft does read this please take on board that we your customers all love your products. But when they are not delivering what the customer wants, then the customer will seek out alternatives which do deliver. And use those until you "get it right". I've logged a recent issue "Mail not linking to People app", so you may want to check that. It sure makes it hard to follow all related issues when a word change starts a "new" issue. All issues were resolved after the re-install of win And now quite happy with win I think that they are more for a phone or tablet and not a desktop.

Details required :. I say somewhat because in the time line it shows all the emails received from your contact however you cannot just click on it to read it. Mail 10 is a long shot from being a full app. Perhaps going back to Corel Office is a better option.
