The Schwaben Cam Chain Tensioner Removal Tool compresses the camshaft chain tensioner safely and easily when removing camshafts or replacing the tensioner or its gasket.

These tasks are virtually impossible without the correct tool. The tool threads into the guide, compressing the tensioner, relieving chain tension. The no-mar plastic contact surface will not harm the tensioner face. Enter your email address below to be notified when this product is no longer on back order. Video successfully uploaded. I read people do the gaskets with no tool I have been trying to figure something out for about a hour now. Anyone ever make a tool, and if so HOW?!!?!?! I just turned the engine over a little when I did mine. Tensioner lifted up enough to slide the new gasket in. Zero issues doing it like that. I had to lift my cams up a bit to get enough room to replace the cct gaskets. That means unbolting the cams and re torquing the can bearing cap bolts to 89 in-lbs.

I have one sitting on my desk. I loan it out for a total of 4 bucks to cover the shipping. You keep it for as long as you need it. PM me if you're interested. Haha, figures. If you are penny pinching this bad, you're going to grow to hate your car or your going to end up with a wack S4 with things like a stub mount filled with epoxy instead of buying a good snub mount to get "firmer shifts".

A VW timing chain class-action lawsuit may be nearing the end as the automaker has agreed to settle the multidistrict litigation that comprises seven class-action lawsuits. An Audi timing chain lawsuit alleges Audi and Volkswagen vehicles have defects that cause the timing chains to suddenly fail without warning, causing the engines to fail. A Volkswagen timing chain tensioner lawsuit alleges numerous VW and Audi vehicles have defects in the timing chain tensioning systems that cause complete engine failure.

On November 19, a judge will rule on a proposed settlement that would either reimburse owners for previous repairs or fund future work on the timing chain tensioner system. According to the terms, reimbursement amounts will be determined based on the age of the vehicle, how many miles are on the odometer and if the timing chain tensioner, timing chain or engine was replaced.

Saying the defect resides in the timing chain tensioner system, the plaintiffs claim Audi and VW have continued to conceal the defects since and refused to inform buyers of the hazards. Our Audi A4 left us stranded miles from home this past weekend. It ran fine all morning.

We stopped, and when I tried to restart, it ran rough but evened out. The next time I started it, the engine continued to run rough, shuddered and stopped. It would not restart so I had it towed to the repair shop. The repairman told us the Tensioner had failed and the timing chain had jumped some teeth which had caused serious as in you need a new engine damage.

Bought the car, got it inspected at an Audi dealer that did not mention tensioner issues. I had the car almost a year when it failed, i had the car towed to my mechanic thinking it was something stupid, he called me the next day and said my engine blew.

Maybe you've experienced this problem. Maybe you're concerned you will soon. Whatever the reason, here's a handful of things you can do to make sure it gets the attention it deserves. Major class action law firms use this data when researching cases. Their focus is on safety-related issues.
